As a Board Member, you will:

• Set strategic direction, drive innovation and link industry, science and policy to realise seaweed’s potential.  

• Grow an Australian industry that strengthens food security, creates regional jobs and provides sustainable solutions.

• Uphold best-practice governance, compliance and risk management.

• Advance applied seaweed research to demonstrate benefits and opportunities, and inform practical, risk-based policy.

• Build cross-sector collaboration and support long-term sustainability.

• Represent and champion ASSA in national and international forums.

We seek Expressions of Interest from values-driven leaders with board experience and skills in one or more of the following areas: governance, political engagement, finance and funding, contracts and law, industry development, supply chains, processing, market development and marketing, community and industry engagement, Indigenous development, seaweed science and aquaculture.

• ASSA board positions are voluntary, with reasonable expenses reimbursed.

• Meetings are held quarterly, with additional sub-committee and strategic sessions as required. Attendance can be in person or via video conference.
